The Dalian Informatization leading group revealed the appraisal of the outstanding information project in the "eleventh five-year plan" recently. "PLM bearing design system" of Dalian Metallurgy Bearings Co. Ltd. was in the list with its leading performance, greater impact and good economic and social benefits in the industry. It plays a positive role for the company to expand awareness and enhance the company image. Led by the information center and implemented by the technology center, "PLM bearing design system" completed in October, 2010 through learning the useful experience from other units and making a lot of optimizition and improvement. The project has five outstanding advantages: integrated design, integrated standard design methods, highly flexible parametric design, rich knowledge base and shared resources, and secure access mechanism. The successful implementation of the project provides a unified information-sharing platform for production, marketing, product design, process design and greatly improved the efficiency and design standards.
