FORT WAYNE, IN--(Marketwired - Dec 9, 2013) - Trelleborg Sealing Solutions (OMX: TRELB) will showcase its specialized precision seals and bearings for use in high performance motorsport applications at the 26th annual PRI (Performance Racing Industry) trade show, December 12-14, 2013, at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, IN.
Experts will be on hand at booth 6046 in the yellow hall to explain how Trelleborg's sealing technology supports customers in reducing friction through the use of its unique materials and seal configurations. By lowering friction, weight and leakage, Trelleborg enhances and supports virtually every system that requires a seal in performance motorsport applications.
Ray Gillies, General Manager of the Trelleborg Sealing Solutions Great Lakes marketing company, says: "Leveraging over 50 years of experience, we are excited to showcase materials that have proven to increase performance and help deliver a competitive edge. We pride ourselves in supporting manufacturers with design, prototyping, production, test and installation using leading-edge design technology that has been proven to make a difference.
"Design development of motorsport components is extremely dynamic with new hardware being continually introduced. To maximize vehicle performance, it is imperative to work with a seal and bearing supplier that understands the needs of the high performance motorsports industry. By addressing the motorsport issues involving friction, weight, and leakage, Trelleborg has engineered its seals and bearings to deliver enhanced durability and strength while delivering lighter weight materials."
As a one stop shop providing the best in elastomer, thermoplastic, polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) based and composite technologies for performance motorsport applications, Trelleborg Sealing Solutions leading seal and bearing solutions include:
Turcon® Varilip® PDR rotary shaft seals lower friction and run stick-slip-free. They reduce temperature generation and enable higher peripheral speeds in rotating applications.
Radial Oil Seals deliver long-lasting sealing efficiency, withstand extreme temperatures; and resist weathering and wear. They also offer low friction and compression set with good elasticity.
Wills Rings®, the original metal O-Rings, provide excellent static sealing of connectors, flanges and plates. They are engineered for use in extreme conditions and have been utilized in motorsport applications since the 1950s.
Orkot® Bearings reduce the coefficient of friction as the load increases and provide self-lubrication, operating well in wet and dry conditions. They offer reduced weight in high strength structural components.
Elastomer Diaphragms are ideal for dynamic flow control applications, available in many forms and designs from a variety of homogeneous or fabric-reinforced elastomers. Plastic or metal-to-rubber bonding can be employed to simplify assembly.
