Schaeffler director wins top manufacturing award

Roger Evans, managing director at Schaeffler (UK), has been voted Manufacturing Champion at a top awards ceremony. Mr Evans was the Welsh regional winner at the EEF/Aldermore Future Manufacturing Awards held in Cardiff, UK. He said: “This award is testament to my team as much as me. It recognizes the importance of people in the manufacturing sector and the difference they can make.” Chris Meldrum, regional sales director invoice finance at award sponsor Aldermore, added: “Roger is passionate about manufacturing and dedicated to seeing it go from strength to strength. He is helping drive UK industry forward and is a worthy winner of this award.” Mr Evans will discover if he has won the national title at an awards dinner in April. Schaeffler UK’s manufacturing plant in Llanelli, South Wales produces precision engine components including general bearings and mechanical tappets for the automotive industry.
