Hansteel now able to produce Q690D high-strength steel for engineering machinery application

Handan Iron & Steel Group (hereafter referred as Hansteel) announced Tuesday that the company had launched the first batch of Q690D, another high-strength steel product as raw material for engineering machinery following the successful development of Q550D. Q690D is a steel of high strength and good toughness that contains Ni and Cr, mainly used in the mining machinery, engineering machinery, lifting equipment and other special automobile manufacturing. So far, Hansteel has been able produce Q550D, 700L and Q690D, three high-strength steels in total. The cumulative sales of Q550D and 700L this year is more than 10,000 tons. The next step, the R&D of Q890D and Q960D which have higher intensity will be put on the list, in an effort to complete the line of high-strength steel products.
