Hebei Steel inks collaboration agreement with Swerea MEFOS

Recently, Hebei Province-based Chinese steelmaker Hebei Iron and Steel Co. (Hebei Steel) inked an agreement with Swerea MEFOS that Hebei Steel can obtain the technology sharing resources offered by MEFOS. Accordingly, the two sides will jointly work on a 100 percent pellet ironmaking technology in blast furnace in the near future. MEFOS now is in a leading level in the metallurgical research field in the world. At present, only Hebei Steel and Shanghai-based major Chinese steelmaker Baosteel have joined the MEFOS.
