June 30 (SeeNews) - Spanish electrical equipment specialist Ingeteam SA this week unveiled a contract to monitor more than 550 MW of wind farms located mainly in Italy, Mexico, Bulgaria, Greece and the US. The company will perform vibrations monitoring and status diagnostics, using its Ingesys CMS tool, which helps to detect potential problems in wind turbines such as gearbox failures and bearings problems. It will supply, install and commission more than 280 Ingesys CMS devices at turbines of different manufacturers, including Vestas, General Electric (GE), Alstom and Repower. Supervision and status diagnostics of the turbines will be carried out by vibration analysis engineers in Albacete, Spain. Last week, Ingeteam said it has agreed to acquire the solar photovoltaic (PV) inverter business of Italian gear motors and drive systems maker Bonfiglioli Riduttori.
