Soucie Salo Safety, a Northern Ontario distributor of safety products, is branching out into bearings and power transmission products.
Source Atlantic, which owns the majority of shares of Soucie Salo, made the announcement on July 15.
“Source Atlantic has been a distributor and service provider of bearings and power transmission products since 1951,” Source Atlantic president Steve Drummond said in a news release.
“Our customers continue to see value in the solutions Source Atlantic and Soucie Salo Safety provide, and it’s those commitments which allow us to expand and service our customers in new ways.”
The company said the rollout would be supported by an experienced team of advisors.
Soucie Salo Safety has locations in Sudbury and Timmins.
Helene Poirier, vice-president of Soucie Salo Safety in Timmins, acknowledged the support of local customers.
“The addition of power transmission products is an exciting new undertaking to complement our safety, industrial, and cleaning product offering,” she said.
Source Atlantic announced its partnership with Soucie Salo Safety in July, 2017. The following year, Soucie Salo’s Timmins branch relocated to a larger, 17,000-square-foot space in the city’s west end to accommodate growth.
Soucie Salso Safety has been in operation since 1955. It serves Northeastern Ontario’s mining, construction, forestry, government, health care, manufacturing, and service industries, specializing in safety protection products, respiratory fit testing, safety training, customized hearing protection services, and gas detection equipment and services.
