ZALMAN Launches 270W CNPS14X Duo Black CPU Cooler for High Thermal Demands
ZALMAN has unveiled the CNPS14X Duo Black, a new air-type CPU cooler engineered to handle thermal loads up to 270 W. This capacity aligns with the performance typically associated with 240 mm AIO liquid coolers. The cooler measures 126 mm x 135 mm x 159 mm (DxWxH) and weighs 1.16 kg, showcasing a sizable dual fin-stack (D-type) heatsink design.
A notable feature of the CNPS14X Duo Black is its unique reverse direct-touch heatpipe base, a patented ZALMAN technology. This design diverges from the conventional direct or indirect contact methods by fully enclosing the heatpipes within the base-plate, allowing for comprehensive contact with the CPU across the entire surface area of the heatpipes. The heatsink incorporates six copper heatpipes, each 6 mm thick, extending through two aluminum fin-stacks, which are finished with ABS top-plates.
The cooling system includes two ZALMAN AF120 fans. Users can opt for a push-pull configuration utilizing both fans, providing 44 mm of memory clearance, or a single fan setup for 52 mm of memory clearance. The fans operate at speeds ranging from 600 to 2,000 RPM, delivering a maximum airflow of 69.12 CFM, with a peak static pressure of 2.01 mm H₂O and a noise level up to 29.7 dBA. The fans' hydro dynamic bearings have a lifespan of 40,000 hours.
The CNPS14X Duo Black supports various CPU socket types, including Intel LGA1700, LGA1200, AMD AM5, and AM4. Additionally, it comes with a sachet of ZALMAN ZM-STC8 thermal compound, which has a thermal conductivity rating of 8.3 W/mK. ZALMAN has not disclosed the pricing for this cooler.
