China Shengu Group multiple scientific research achievements won the 2024 Machinery Industry Science and Technology Award

Recently, the list of winners of the 2024 "Machinery Industry Science and Technology Award" was announced. All three projects submitted by Shengu Group won the award. Among them, the "Key Technologies and Applications of Centrifugal Compressors for Compressed Air Energy Storage Power Stations" project was highly praised and won the Science and Technology Progress Award. The Machinery Industry Science and Technology Award is a comprehensive science and technology award for the national machinery industry jointly established by the China Machinery Industry Federation and the China Mechanical Engineering Society, approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology, and registered with the national science and technology award authority. In 2024, the "Machinery Industry Science and Technology Awards" accepted a total of 1,147 nomination projects (82 for Technical Invention Awards and 1,065 for Scientific and Technological Progress Awards), and a total of 430 commendation and award projects, including 5 special prizes and 40 first prizes.

The "Key Technologies and Applications of Centrifugal Compressors for Compressed Air Energy Storage Power Stations" project is based on my country's first new non-supplementary combustion energy storage demonstration project. It took many years to conquer the five key technologies of high-temperature, high-pressure and high-performance energy storage compressors. The first set of adiabatic gear speed-increasing compressor units independently developed by Shengu Group has reached the international advanced level as a whole, and its technical indicators such as high temperature and high pressure are internationally leading. The world's first non-supplementary combustion energy storage power station compressor unit has been successfully developed, which solves the problem of developing core power equipment for compressed air energy storage power stations and is of great significance to promoting my country's energy transformation and building a new power system.
