SKF Automotive Asia-Pacific Headquarters Established in ShangHai Jiading
On the afternoon of April 22, the SKF Automotive Asia-Pacific Headquarters project was officially signed and settled in Jiading. Gao Xiang, Deputy Secretary of the Jiading District Committee and District Mayor, and Kerstin Enochsson, Global President of SKF Automotive, attended the signing ceremony and delivered speeches.
In her address, Gao Xiang stated that the automotive industry is a core hallmark of Jiading. As one of the regions in China with the largest automotive industry scale, strongest R&D capabilities, and most complete industrial chain in a single city, Jiading is seizing the opportunities of industry transformation to accelerate the development of a "New Four Modernizations" industrial cluster and fully build a global innovation hub for intelligent and connected vehicles. The establishment of SKF's Asia-Pacific headquarters will further strengthen Jiading's technological advantages and service capabilities in the automotive industry, driving the regional economy toward high-quality development.
She emphasized the hope that SKF will deepen cooperation with Jiading in areas such as R&D innovation, market expansion, and green low-carbon initiatives, attracting more high-quality enterprises to join the industrial chain ecosystem and forming an industrial cluster centered around SKF for mutual development. Meanwhile, the Jiading District Government will fully optimize the business environment, providing comprehensive support for enterprise development to ensure they can take root and thrive locally.
Kerstin Enochsson stated that SKF's decision to establish its Asia-Pacific headquarters in Jiading is not only a strategic choice for the company's development but also a response to the long-term support from the Jiading District and Anting Town governments. For SKF, the Chinese market is not only a crucial business market but also a key innovation hub. By leveraging the spillover effects of Jiading's world-class automotive industry cluster, SKF will increase investments in technological R&D and talent development, create more job opportunities, and commit to fostering a sustainable corporate culture, thereby contributing to Jiading's economic prosperity and social progress.
The ceremony was presided over by Zhu Xiaojie, Standing Committee Member and Deputy District Mayor of Jiading. Chu Hao, President of SKF Automotive Asia-Pacific, introduced the project background and future plans, while Xiang Ping, Director of the Jiading District Economic Commission, shared insights into the district's current industrial development.
