China Huangpu Customs seized counterfeit SKF bearing products in export goods

Recently, Huangpu Customs found bearings suspected of infringing intellectual property rights when inspecting a batch of export goods. According to the report, Huangpu Laogang Customs officers found that some of the goods declared as "packaging boxes" and other names contained 16 bearings that were not declared in accordance with regulations. These bearings and their outer packaging are printed with the "SKF" brand logo.

After preliminary confirmation by the relevant intellectual property rights holders, this batch of bearings is a product that uses registered trademarks without authorization, which constitutes an infringement. At present, the batch of goods has been detained by the customs in accordance with the law, and the case is being further processed.

According to the Customs Law of the People's Republic of China and relevant laws and regulations, the customs has the right to supervise and protect the intellectual property rights involved in imported and exported goods. For violations of regulations and import and export of goods that infringe intellectual property rights, the customs will confiscate the infringing items in accordance with the law, and impose corresponding administrative penalties depending on the severity of the circumstances; if it involves criminal acts, it will be transferred to the judicial authorities for legal responsibility.

This incident once again shows that customs plays an important role in preventing and combating infringement and counterfeiting in the import and export links. Huangpu Customs stated that it will continue to strengthen import and export supervision, improve law enforcement efficiency, and actively safeguard the rights and interests of legitimate enterprises and market order.
