2026 Advanced Manufacturing Outlook Survey opens: Industry leaders encouraged to participate
Plant and Canadian Manufacturing have officially launched this year’s Advanced Manufacturing Outlook Survey, inviting manufacturers across the country to share how they’re adopting new technologies and responding to the economic realities shaping the sector.
In addition to technology adoption, this year’s survey looks at how manufacturers are responding to economic pressures such as rising costs, trade barriers and ongoing supply chain challenges. The goal is to better understand how these challenges are shaping operational decisions and investment priorities.
“Canadian manufacturers are facing a wave of uncertainty, but they’re also building the foundations for long-term resilience,” says Scott McNeil-Smith, Vice President, Manufacturing Sector Performance Excellence in Manufacturing Consortium (EMC), which has been involved in the survey since its inception. “This survey is a critical pulse check, providing real-time insights into how industry is adapting, investing and redefining what advanced manufacturing looks like heading into 2026.”
The survey takes less than 12 minutes to complete and will inform the 2026 Advanced Manufacturing Outlook Report, which will be published this fall. The report will provide a detailed analysis of the current state of the industry, offering valuable insight into how manufacturers are using digital tools to improve operations, manage risk and plan for the future.
Participants will be asked to weigh in on a range of topics, including how they’re addressing cybersecurity threats, labour shortages and financing hurdles. The survey also looks at how companies are using data to drive innovation and how investment strategies are evolving in response to global pressures.
“This research goes beyond tech trends; it captures how manufacturers are responding to real-world pressures like inflation, tariffs, and supply chain disruption,” says McNeil-Smith. “The results will help shape national dialogue and give leaders the data they need to make smarter, more future-ready decisions.”
The final report will include expert commentary and national data trends, offering manufacturers a strategic resource to help them assess their progress and prepare for what’s ahead.
All respondents will be entered into a draw to win a $500 Best Buy Gift Card.
