General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out that we should coordinate the promotion of carbon reduction, pollution reduction, green expansion and growth, make the green transformation and upgrading of industries a top priority, accelerate the cultivation and expansion of green and low-carbon industries, actively develop green technologies and green products, improve the degree of greening of the economy, and enhance the potential and stamina of development. In the first half of this year, my country's green consumption vitality surged, and green productivity accelerated cultivation, while shaping new advantages for industrial development, injecting surging momentum into high-quality development.

More than 50 out of every 100 cars sold are new energy vehicles. In the first half of the year, my country's consumption of new energy vehicles, energy-saving home appliances and other products grew rapidly, and green consumption gradually became a new trend.

More than 140 steel companies completed ultra-low emission transformation throughout the process, involving crude steel production capacity of about 591 million tons, and my country's green production accelerated.

Lower energy consumption and greener industries. In the first four years of the "14th Five-Year Plan", the national energy consumption intensity decreased by 11.6% cumulatively, and the "green content" of the industry is increasing the "gold content" of development.

Green development is the background color of high-quality development. Since the 18th CPC National Congress, General Secretary Xi Jinping has repeatedly stressed the need to take the path of green and low-carbon development when he visited various places for inspection and research. The industrial sector should promote green manufacturing, build a green manufacturing system and service system, and increase the proportion of green and low-carbon industries in the total economy. He stressed that we should accelerate the formation of an industrial structure with high technological content, low resource consumption and less environmental pollution, significantly increase the degree of greening of the economy, effectively reduce the resource and environmental costs of development, establish and improve a green industrial system, and accelerate the formation of a sustainable production and lifestyle.

A number of policy measures have been implemented in succession around the green transformation and upgrading of industries. Over the past ten years, a total of more than 100 billion yuan of central budget investment has been allocated to support the construction of environmental infrastructure and promote the industrialization of green technologies; an action plan for green and low-carbon development of the manufacturing industry has been issued to accelerate the green transformation and upgrading of key industries, and promote energy-saving and carbon-reduction transformation of households and enterprises through large-scale equipment renewal and consumer goods trade-in policies.

The green concept has been deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, and green consumer products are changing from "optional" to "preferred". In the midsummer, the trade-in of consumer goods is being carried out in various parts of the country, and green home appliances have become the mainstream. Data shows that more than 90% of the orders for trade-in home appliances are first-class energy-efficient products. Driven by consumption upgrades, the green transformation of the production end is being driven.

Not only home appliances, but also "green" houses that use solar energy for power supply and geothermal energy for temperature regulation are becoming more and more popular. Today, the proportion of newly built green buildings in the country has exceeded 91%, and the cumulative energy-saving building area has exceeded 30 billion square meters, driving the vigorous development of the green building materials industry.

Today, green lifestyles and production methods are accelerating, and the growing green demand drives green supply, and also drives traditional industries to accelerate the pursuit of "new" and "green".

Replacing traditional fuel with clean methanol and installing energy-saving sails on ships, green and low-carbon are becoming the "vane" of shipbuilding. At present, Chinese shipbuilding companies have won more than 78% of the global green ship orders and have achieved full coverage of mainstream ship types. At present, 27 key industrial industries such as petrochemicals, steel, and ships are seizing the opportunity of the country's large-scale equipment renewal and transformation to accelerate equipment and process renewal and achieve transformation to green. At present, my country has built more than 6,400 national green factories, covering multiple industries such as food, automobiles and new materials, and the output value accounts for more than 20% of the total output value of the manufacturing industry.

Green and low-carbon industries are being cultivated at a faster pace.

In Xinjiang Muli Kazakh Autonomous County, the world's largest compressed gas energy storage power station is being built at a faster pace. This giant "power bank" can use carbon dioxide compression and expansion to achieve clean energy storage, and my country's new energy storage technology has made another breakthrough. In the first half of the year, wind power construction continued to accelerate, and the output of wind turbines increased by 72% year-on-year. my country has built the world's largest and most complete new energy industry chain R&D, design and manufacturing system. The industry is constantly moving towards green and innovation, and is building a solid foundation for green development for Chinese-style modernization.
