Fengdian JKV Successfully Develops China First 90MPa Diaphragm Compressor

Recently, the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region's major science and technology project "Key 70MPa Refueling Equipment for Hydrogen Refueling Stations" officially passed its concluding acceptance. As a key outcome of the project, the 90MPa high-pressure compressor developed by Fengdian Jinkaiwei successfully met the acceptance criteria, achieving technological independence and breakthrough in China's core equipment for high-pressure hydrogen refueling stations. Its overall performance has reached internationally advanced levels.

Fengdian Jinkaiwei has successfully developed China's first 90MPa diaphragm compressor, achieving a technological leap in domestic high-pressure hydrogen compressors and filling a gap in this category of equipment in China. Under working conditions with an intake pressure of 12.5MPa, the compressor delivers an exhaust pressure of no less than 87.5MPa, an exhaust flow rate of no less than 200 Nm³/h, and a shaft power consumption of no higher than 42kW. It has undergone rigorous testing, including cumulative trouble-free operation for 500 hours (with 50 start-stop cycles). Core components, such as gas valves, oil overflow valves, and metal diaphragms, have even exceeded 1,000 hours of trouble-free operation, fully demonstrating the machine’s reliability.

In terms of key components, the technical team developed a series of core parts, including a dedicated 90MPa high-pressure combined membrane head, high-pressure hydrogen gas valves, anti-impact anti-jamming high-pressure oil overflow valves, and specially shaped high-pressure closed-loop metal seals, breaking foreign technological monopolies. Additionally, they created China’s first health management system for hydrogen refueling station compressors, enabling real-time status monitoring, intelligent fault diagnosis, and failure prediction throughout the entire lifecycle of diaphragm compressors.

These achievements have been successfully applied in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, with the "70MPa Containerized High-Pressure Intelligent Hydrogen Refueling System" being listed in the National Energy Administration’s "Major Technological Equipment Projects (First-of-Its-Kind) in the Energy Sector." The 90MPa diaphragm hydrogen compressor was certified by experts from the China General Machinery Industry Association as having "performance metrics reaching internationally advanced levels." During the project, the team applied for multiple invention patents, published high-level research papers, and led the drafting of several national and group standards.

The successful conclusion and acceptance of this project mark a major advancement in the independent R&D of key equipment for China’s hydrogen energy infrastructure. It will provide solid support for the large-scale construction of 70MPa and higher-pressure hydrogen refueling stations, strongly propelling China’s hydrogen energy industry toward a new stage of independence, high performance, and commercial application.
