2025 Summary of Current Standards Related to Wind Turbine Bearings

Earlier (July 26, 2023), Bearing Magazine forwarded a "List of Current National and Industry Standards for Wind Power" compiled by the WeChat public accounts WordPB and BZGF. This list includes 137 national standards, 346 industry standards, and 17 group standards. The content is extensive, and many colleagues have subsequently requested relevant standards. We have compiled a list of current standards closely related to wind power bearings for your reference. The download link is attached.

This list covers national standards, industry standards, local standards, and group standards. [Typically, the order of standard selection is: national standards → industry standards → group standards. Where national and industry standards exist, they are preferred. Where these do not exist, the community can independently develop group standards. However, where national and industry standards exist, group standards must be higher than those in the national and industry standards. Group standards with specifications lower than those in the national and industry standards are invalid.]

Recently, both SKF and Schaeffler have released relevant standard projects related to wind power bearings, which are worthy of our attention and understanding.

On September 16, the China Electric Power Equipment Management Association standard T/CEEMA-0201-2025 "Technical Specifications for Maintenance and Replacement of Main Bearings and Main Shafts of Wind Turbine Generators" was officially released and implemented. This standard was compiled by SKF under the guidance of the New Energy Operation and Maintenance Professional Committee of the China Electric Power Equipment Management Association. It aims to fill the industry gap in the maintenance standards of core wind power components and help the wind power industry achieve high-quality development.

On September 16, the 13th Schaeffler China Wind Power Seminar and Wind Energy Aftermarket Forum was held. The launching ceremony of the "Design Verification Method for Wind Turbine Main Shaft Bearings", the first energy industry standard led by Schaeffler, was held in Yantai, Shandong at the same time, pressing the "accelerator" for the improvement of my country's wind turbine main shaft bearing design verification standard system.
