Reporters learned from the China Machinery Industry Federation that during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, my country's machinery industry experienced rapid development in terms of industrial scale, foreign trade, and innovation capabilities, laying a solid foundation for promoting new industrialization.

During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the average annual growth rate of added value in my country's machinery industry exceeded 7.1%, higher than the average level of the national industry and manufacturing sector during the same period. The number of enterprises above designated size increased from 92,000 to 137,000 by the end of October 2025. The import and export volume exceeded one trillion US dollars for five consecutive years.

At the same time, innovation capabilities continued to strengthen. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the entire industry released 4,487 national and machinery industry standards, with an international standard conversion rate of over 92%. my country has become one of the countries with the most complete product categories and varieties, and 13 enterprises have entered the top 50 global construction machinery manufacturers. In addition, the advantages of industrial clusters are becoming increasingly prominent; machinery industry enterprises account for one-quarter of the 300 national-level characteristic industrial clusters for small and medium-sized enterprises.

During the 15th Five-Year Plan period, my country's machinery industry will focus on improving the resilience and security of the industrial chain and supply chain, and accelerating the cultivation and development of new productive forces, emphasizing the intelligent, green, and integrated transformation and upgrading of the machinery industry.
