On the morning of September 19, 2025, at the Second Steelmaking Plant of Guangxi BG New Materials Co., Ltd., the smooth hoisting of the molten steel ladle into the VOD vacuum tank for refining marked the successful completion of the hot performance test of the "90T-VOD Vacuum Refining Furnace" project, undertaken by Hangzhen Energy. Hangzhen Energy General Manager Ren Chuan and the leadership team of Guangxi BG New Materials Co., Ltd. were on hand to provide guidance and observe the entire hot test process. This project, a core component of BG New Materials' product structure optimization and technical upgrade (Phase I), not only provides key equipment support for its high-end stainless steel production but also further consolidates Hangzhen Energy's technological strength in metallurgical vacuum smelting equipment.
To implement the requirements of BG New Materials' "14th Five-Year Plan" for product structural reform and high-quality development, Hangzhen Energy undertook the construction of a 90-ton VOD unit at the Second Steelmaking Plant, providing comprehensive services from design and equipment supply to installation and commissioning. The VOD system utilizes a dual-station, in-line tank truck layout and an innovative "dual-tank, dual-lid, dual-trolley" structure. The lid is fixed to a lifting device, while the tank body moves with the vacuum tank truck, enabling efficient and flexible continuous operation.
As core equipment for secondary steel refining, the VOD refining furnace, with its advanced features such as rapid degassing and deep decarburization, effectively improves steel purity and precisely controls its composition, making it particularly suitable for the production of high-value-added stainless steel. The successful implementation of this technology will provide a solid foundation for BG New Materials to expand its high-end product line and achieve end-to-end high-quality stainless steel manufacturing.
