Successful Operation of 243 BAPI Units in Xinjiang Biodegradable Project

Recently, 243 units from the Beijing Aerospace Propulsion Institute of the Sixth Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation were put into operation at Xinjiang Shuguang Lvhua Biotechnology Co., Ltd.'s project to co-produce 100,000 tons of BDO (1,4-butanediol) and 120,000 tons of PBAT (polybutylene terephthalate) annually, contributing to the full-scale completion of the project.

Located in Shuangfeng Industrial Park, Tiemenguan City, Xinjiang, this project will promote the development of a major chemical industry base in southern Xinjiang after it goes into operation. The project's main product, PBAT, is an important biodegradable material that has been listed as a national strategic emerging industry and included in the western region's encouraged industry catalogue. This material can be widely used in single-use plastic products such as packaging, catering utensils, hygiene products, and agricultural films. Under specific conditions, it can achieve complete biodegradation, making it an important alternative to traditional non-degradable plastics with broad market application prospects.

The acetylene flare, oxygen preheater, and natural gas preheater provided by the Beijing Aerospace Propulsion Research Institute are core equipment for maintaining the safe and stable operation of my country's independently developed natural gas-to-acetylene process. The thermal oil heater provides a stable and reliable heat source for the polymerization reaction, ensuring the long-term stable operation of the PBAT unit and that the final product quality and performance meet requirements. The safety valve and plant-wide flare, as the most critical safety facilities, serve as the final safety barrier for the entire plant. The successful operation of these products has further enriched our institute's market in the field of biodegradable resins and contributed to the development of strategic emerging industries in Xinjiang.
