High-End Spherical Plain Bearing Project Wins Top Prize at the 3rd Large Aircraft Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition
On December 26, 2025, the 14th China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition (Aviation Specialty) and the 3rd "Large Aircraft" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition concluded successfully at the Large Aircraft Park in the Lingang New Area of Shanghai. This year's competition was jointly organized by the Torch High Technology Industry Development Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, COMAC (Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China), and Lingang Group, focusing on cutting-edge technological breakthroughs and industrial applications across the entire civil aviation industry chain.
The competition centered on seven core areas: intelligent design, advanced manufacturing, new materials and processes, green aviation, and intelligent operation and maintenance. It prioritized innovative projects with high technological maturity, practical application scenarios, and high growth potential. Since its launch, the competition attracted 333 projects from 24 provinces and municipalities across China, encompassing over 180 universities, research institutes, technology companies, and innovation platforms. After five rounds of rigorous review, six outstanding projects advanced to the finals, with the "High-End Joint Bearing" project ultimately winning the championship due to its superior technical performance and industrialization prospects.
In addition to the competition, the organizing committee also held a series of supporting activities, including a large aircraft designer salon, financial roadshow matchmaking, and mentorship programs, to build a collaborative innovation ecosystem where "big hands help small hands." At the awards ceremony, several investment institutions reached cooperation agreements with the winning teams, signing a two-way empowerment agreement entitled "Integration and Innovation, Creating the Future," promoting the deep integration of technology, capital, and industry.
It is worth mentioning that several finalist projects, including self-reactive fire extinguishing coatings, AI-driven industrial R&D design platforms, electric remote-controlled poleless tractors, and ultrasonic phased array testing equipment, have signed letters of intent to enter the Large Aircraft Industrial Park. Currently, the Lingang New Area Large Aircraft Aviation Industrial Park has initially formed a complete industrial chain covering R&D design, final assembly and manufacturing, test flights, and customer service, and is accelerating the gathering of high-end aviation innovation resources to help the high-quality development of the domestic large aircraft industry.
