C&U Group Breaks Ground on Global R&D Headquarters and High-End Smart Bearing Manufacturing Project in Shanghai

Striving Forward in the "15th Five-Year Plan," a New Chapter Begins. 2026 marks the start of the new journey of the "15th Five-Year Plan." At the beginning of the new year, the entire city is united in its efforts to focus on projects, promote investment, and introduce policies, presenting a vibrant work environment and striving for a "good start" in attracting investment, injecting strong momentum into the opening of the "15th Five-Year Plan."

On the morning of January 7th, the global bearing R&D headquarters and high-end bearing intelligent manufacturing project of C&U officially broke ground in Minhang District, Shanghai. Wu Qiang, Deputy Secretary of the Minhang District Committee and District Mayor; Han Dadong, Second-Level Inspector of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology; Zhou Yu, Chairman of the China Bearing Industry Association; and Zhang Tongsheng, Chairman of C&U, attended the groundbreaking ceremony.

At the ceremony, attending leaders and entrepreneurs officially launched the C&U's Global Bearing R&D Headquarters and High-End Bearing Intelligent Manufacturing Project, and jointly laid the foundation stone for the project, aiming to break through the "bottleneck" links in the high-end bearing industry and create a dual-core highland of "R&D + intelligent manufacturing" for the bearing industry.

The project plans to invest over 10 billion yuan in Pujiang Town, Minhang District, to build a global bearing R&D headquarters and three super intelligent factories for robotics, automobiles, and rail transit, with a total planned land area of approximately 356 mu (about 23 hectares). The commencement of this phase is the first phase, with a planned land area of 146 mu (about 9 hectares), constructing a super intelligent factory for robotic bearings and an automotive bearing super intelligent factory, with a planned investment of over 5.3 billion yuan and completion and production expected within three years. The second phase is planned to start in 2029, planning to construct a global bearing R&D headquarters, a super intelligent factory for rail transit bearings, and an all-weather global service center, contributing positively to enhancing the resilience of the city's industrial chain and building a highland for the high-end equipment industry.
